Responsibilities

WHAT YOU'LL DO AS A CANYON RANCH COLLEAGUE:

  • Lead the daily operations of the Grounds Department by supervising team members, assigning work, and ensuring exceptional landscape maintenance across the property.
  • Recruit, train, coach, and develop Grounds colleagues while fostering a culture of safety, teamwork, and operational excellence.
  • Oversee the care and maintenance of gardens, trees, turf, flower beds, hardscapes, trails, and irrigation systems to ensure beautiful, healthy outdoor environments.
  • Coordinate landscape projects, equipment maintenance, supply management, and capital improvement initiatives to support efficient department operations.
  • Maintain property trails, stormwater systems, and drainage infrastructure while ensuring outdoor spaces remain safe, functional, and guest-ready.
  • Share horticultural expertise with colleagues and guests while collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance the property's appearance and deliver an exceptional guest experience.

Qualifications

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

  • Bring 3–5 years of progressive experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, horticulture, or landscape maintenance, with demonstrated leadership experience preferred.
  • Hold a high school diploma or equivalent, along with a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record; Group B driving qualifications are required.
  • Demonstrate expertise in commercial irrigation systems, regional plant identification, turf management, tree care, and sustainable landscape practices, including water conservation and xeriscaping.
  • Possess strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to supervise, coach, and motivate a team while maintaining high performance standards.
  • Exhibit excellent problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and a safety-first mindset while working outdoors with landscape equipment and performing physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 40 pounds.
  • Thrive in a dynamic environment by adapting to changing priorities, working a flexible schedule, collaborating across departments, and supporting Canyon Ranch's commitment to exceptional guest experiences and beautiful outdoor spaces.
