Job description

Hiring: F/T DELIVERY DRIVER

Pay: $18/hour
Hours: Monday through Friday- 7am-5pm
Some Saturdays required during peak delivery seasons
Typical start time: Approximately 7:00 AM
Deliveries generally conclude by 5:00 PM
Daily start and end times will vary based on delivery schedules
Must have DOT card and Clean driving record

Will be driving 16 ft box truck

Must be able to pass drug screen

Must have own car to be able to get to/from work daily


Will be using the Jobber App to see what delivery schedule is for the day. They will know schedule by 4:30pm the previous day so they know when to show up and pick up the truck the next morning.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Safely operate a 16-foot box truck to deliver landscaping materials, trees, shrubs, pottery, patio furniture, and other nursery products.
Load, transport, secure, and unload a wide variety of landscaping and nursery products while following all company safety procedures.
Load and unload palletized materials weighing up to 1,200 pounds using the truck's liftgate and a manual pallet jack. Our 16-foot box trucks can transport up to six pallets of material per trip.
Load and unload products that are not palletized, including trees, shrubs, pottery, patio furniture, and other items, by hand or with the use of a hand truck or other approved material-handling equipment.
Properly secure all products during transport using straps and other load-securing equipment to minimize movement and prevent damage.
Read delivery orders to ensure the correct products are picked up, loaded, and delivered accurately.
Provide exceptional customer service during every delivery.
Communicate professionally with customers, store personnel, and dispatch.
Perform daily vehicle inspections and promptly report maintenance or safety concerns.
Maintain company vehicles and delivery equipment in a clean and safe operating condition.
Accurately follow assigned delivery routes using navigation software.
Safely maneuver delivery equipment at customer residences and commercial locations.
Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
Complete deliveries efficiently while maintaining a positive, professional attitude.
Travel between multiple delivery locations throughout the assigned service area.
Qualifications
Required
At least 21 years of age
DOT certified
Valid state-issued driver's license with current address
Acceptable driving record
Ability to safely operate a 16-foot box truck
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Excellent attendance and reliability
Strong customer service and communication skills
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Ability to accurately follow written and verbal instructions
Willingness to learn company procedures and delivery methods
Preferred
Three (3) or more years of driving experience (preferred but not required)
Previous delivery, warehouse, moving, landscaping, or logistics experience
