Job description

Commercial Landscape Maintenance Sales & Estimator

Barrett’s Landscape & Construction is hiring a Commercial Landscape Maintenance Sales & Estimator to develop, estimate, propose, and close new recurring commercial landscape maintenance contracts throughout the South Puget Sound region.

This is not a generic sales role. We need someone who understands commercial landscape maintenance well enough to walk a property, identify service needs, help price the work accurately, explain the scope clearly, and sell contracts our Production teams can perform profitably and professionally.

The right candidate may come from commercial landscape sales, estimating, account management, production management, field supervision, irrigation, enhancements, or commercial grounds operations.

About the Role

This position is responsible for generating and closing new commercial landscape maintenance agreements that fit Barrett’s service area, quality standards, and production capacity.

You will prospect, build relationships, walk properties, develop scopes, support estimating, present proposals, follow up, close work, and help turn new contracts over properly to Production.

Target customers include HOAs, multifamily communities, office parks, retail centers, medical office properties, business parks, municipalities, and other professionally managed commercial properties.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop new commercial maintenance opportunities through prospecting, networking, referrals, site visits, and professional follow-up.
  • Build relationships with property managers, owners, HOA boards, facility managers, and other decision-makers.
  • Perform site walks and evaluate turf, beds, pruning, irrigation, access, service frequency, risk areas, and overall maintenance needs.
  • Gather photos, measurements, notes, customer expectations, and pricing support.
  • Prepare professional proposals using Aspire® and company-approved systems.
  • Support accurate estimating by understanding labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, gross profit, and production capacity.
  • Maintain a current sales pipeline with follow-up dates, proposal status, close probability, and contract value.
  • Present proposals professionally and follow up consistently.
  • Coordinate new contract turnover with Production, Field Supervision, and crews.
  • Represent Barrett’s Landscape & Construction with professionalism, responsiveness, and field credibility.

What Success Looks Like

Success is measured by profitable new recurring maintenance growth, not just activity.

A strong performer will build a qualified pipeline, complete consistent sales calls and property walks, present professional proposals, and close profitable recurring contracts that fit our footprint and operating standards.

This role requires proposal accuracy, scope clarity, gross profit discipline, strong customer communication, and effective internal coordination with Production.

The goal is not simply to sell work. The goal is to sell the right work, priced properly, scoped clearly, and turned over in a way that supports long-term customer retention and successful field execution.

Over a year’s time, a strong performer should be capable of producing $1,000,000+ in new annual recurring maintenance contract value by consistently managing the controllable parts of the sales process, including prospecting activity, qualified opportunity volume, proposal quality, close rate, average contract size, and disciplined follow-up, while adapting to changing market conditions.
