Position Overview
Are you a proven sales hunter with deep irrigation expertise? Do you enjoy building lasting customer relationships while also rolling up your sleeves to solve technical challenges in the field?
SiteOne Green Tech is seeking a District Sales Manager to drive growth and expand our presence throughout the Houston market. This is an individual contributor role for a self-motivated professional who thrives on uncovering new opportunities, developing trusted partnerships, and delivering technical solutions that help customers succeed.
You'll serve as both a business development leader and a technical resource, helping customers navigate advanced irrigation technologies including central control systems, pump stations, wireless communication systems, water management solutions, and more.
What you'll do:
  • Drive New Business Growth
    • Develop and execute a territory growth strategy to exceed annual sales goals
    • Identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities across commercial, municipal, and landscape markets
    • Build relationships with landscape architects, irrigation consultants, agencies, contractors, property managers, and end users
    • Maintain a healthy sales pipeline and actively manage projects from opportunity through completion
    • Deliver consultative presentations, demonstrations, and product recommendations tailored to customer needs
    • Generate product specifications and promote SiteOne Green Tech's expanding technology portfolio
  • Serve as a Trusted Technical Expert
    • Provide field-level support for irrigation control systems, pump stations, and related technologies
    • Assist customers with troubleshooting, diagnostics, repairs, and system optimization
    • Conduct site surveys, startup assistance, and pre-construction meetings
    • Deliver customer training and education programs to maximize product performance and adoption
    • Partner with customers to solve complex irrigation and water management challenges
  • Operate with Ownership
    • Manage your territory independently and prioritize activities for maximum impact
    • Schedule and execute weekly customer visits and prospecting plans
    • Provide repair quotes, service documentation, and customer follow-up
    • Collaborate with internal sales and operational teams while maintaining responsibility for your market's success

Skills We Are Seeking
Requirements
  • 4+ years of outside sales, specification sales, or business development experience in the landscape or irrigation industry
  • Strong knowledge of commercial irrigation systems and landscape products
  • Experience with irrigation troubleshooting, repair, installation, or service
  • Texas Licensed Irrigator
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Strong communication, presentation, and customer relationship skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications

Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified Irrigation Technician (CIT) or Certified Irrigation Contractor (CIC)
  • Experience with central irrigation control platforms such as Rain Bird, Hunter, HydroPoint, WeatherTrak, Baseline, Toro, or Rain Master
  • Knowledge of pump stations, hydraulic systems, electrical troubleshooting, two-wire systems, and communication technologies
  • Spanish language skills
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience
