Job description

The S/L/A/M Collaborative has an opportunity for a Landscape Architect with a minimum of 5-10+ years of experience to join the firm in our Glastonbury, CT office. SLAM is an award-winning studio-based design firm with exciting and challenging campus planning and detailed site design projects throughout the nation.


Job Responsibilities include:

  • Collaborate in a supporting role with LA design lead/project manager on various project teams with several in-house disciplines
  • Manage projects and project teams with several in-house disciplines, in addition to coordinating with various consultants
  • Develop and express strong planning and design concepts
  • Attend client meetings in-house and at client sites
  • Produce creative and convincing presentations in multiple formats
  • Translate design concepts into CAD-based technical drawings and specifications

Key Skills:

  • 5-10+ years of experience preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Experience in complex site grading, construction documentation, and construction administration
  • Strong technical skills with site layout, planting, grading/surface drainage, and construction detailing
  • Experience with AutoCAD/Civil3D and LandFX
  • Multi-media 2D and 3D design and documentation skills using software such as Sketch Up, Rhino, Lumion, Adobe Suite, and Microsoft programs
  • Highly motivated, good team player with the ability to juggle multiple tasks, collaborate with large multi-disciplinary teams, and work well under deadlines
  • Ability to work independently with proficient organizational and time management skills
  • Licensure in the state of CT preferred
  • Undergraduate or Graduate Degree in Landscape Architecture required
