Position: Project Estimator

Reports To: Sales Manager

Department: Sales (Residential)

Location: Landmark Roofing Headquarters, Field-based (local homeowner visits)

Classification: Full-Time, Commission Only

Position Overview

The Project Estimator is the face of Landmark Roofing in the field. This role is responsible for conducting roof inspections, educating homeowners, building trust, and guiding customers through the roofing sales process. Project Estimators meet directly with homeowners to assess needs, provide detailed proposals, and close sales. Success in this role requires strong interpersonal skills, persistence, and the ability to deliver outstanding customer experiences that reflect Landmark Roofingโ€™s reputation for quality and integrity.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
  • Conduct professional roof inspections, documenting conditions with photos and notes.
  • Take accurate measurements and prepare proposals using Landmarkโ€™s estimating tools.
  • Present proposals clearly, explaining roofing solutions, warranties, and financing options.
  • Build strong relationships with homeowners, earning trust and addressing concerns.
  • Follow up on open proposals and past leads to maximize closing opportunities.
  • Manage leads assigned by the office while also self-generating referrals and opportunities.
  • Enter all homeowner and project data accurately into the CRM (AccuLynx).
  • Maintain consistent communication with homeowners throughout the sales process.
  • Collaborate with the Production team to ensure a smooth handoff after each sale.
  • Attend weekly sales meetings, training, and team-building sessions.
Requirements Skills & Qualifications:
  • Strong communication, persuasion, and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to safely inspect and measure roofs (training provided)
  • Proficiency in CRM or sales-tracking tools (AccuLynx experience a plus)
  • Excellent organizational and follow-up abilities
  • Ability to manage a sales pipeline and prioritize effectively
Preferred Experience:
  • Prior experience in outside sales, preferably in roofing, construction, or home improvement
  • Demonstrated success in closing sales and exceeding quotas
  • Familiarity with financing programs or insurance claim processes (a plus)
