What does a landfill manager do?

A Landfill Manager oversees the daily operations of a landfill site, ensuring that waste is disposed of safely, efficiently, and in compliance with environmental regulations. Their responsibilities include supervising staff, monitoring waste delivery and compaction, maintaining equipment, and ensuring safety protocols are followed. They also manage environmental monitoring activities, such as checking for groundwater contamination and controlling landfill gas emissions. Additionally, Landfill Managers often interact with regulatory agencies and help plan for future site development or closure.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a landfill manager?

To thrive as a Landfill Manager, you need a background in environmental science, engineering, or waste management, often supported by relevant degrees and experience in regulatory compliance.
