Soltesz is seeking an experienced Project Manager – Land Development Design to join our growing Waldorf office. This is an exciting opportunity for a licensed Professional Engineer to lead a diverse portfolio of land development projects while helping clients achieve their development goals throughout Southern Maryland and the surrounding region. 

The successful candidate will combine strong technical expertise with exceptional leadership, client relationship management, and business development skills. This position plays a key role in project success, staff development, and the continued growth of the firm. 

What You'll Do

As a Project Manager, you will oversee projects from concept through construction while serving as a trusted advisor to clients and a mentor to project teams.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Manage a portfolio of civil engineering and land development projects
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and maintain strong working relationships
  • Lead project planning, execution, and delivery while ensuring client satisfaction
  • Develop and prepare proposals, scopes of work, and fee estimates
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, profitability, and invoicing
  • Provide technical guidance and expertise to support client development objectives
  • Represent clients during project milestones, agency meetings, public presentations, and hearings
  • Support business development and marketing efforts to expand client relationships and grow the firm's presence
  • Lead, mentor, and develop engineers, designers, and project staff
  • Oversee quality control, workload planning, and resource management
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to achieve company goals and strategic objectives 

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in Maryland
  • 10-12 years of progressive civil engineering and land development design experience
  • Minimum of 5 years managing civil/site design projects
  • Minimum of 5 years supervising and developing technical staff
  • Strong understanding of land development design, permitting, and regulatory processes
  • Experience working on projects in Southern Maryland preferred
  • Proven success building and maintaining client relationships
  • Excellent organizational, delegation, leadership, and communication skills
  • Commitment to quality, collaboration, and client service excellence
