Dining Support Manager

About the Role
Five Star Breaktime Solutions is a premier provider of away-from-home convenience services, delivering exceptional dining experiences to businesses, healthcare facilities, schools, and other organizations throughout the Southeast.
We are seeking a Dining Support Manager to provide leadership and operational support across multiple dining locations. This role is ideal for an experienced foodservice leader who enjoys variety, travel, and helping teams succeed. You'll step in to support dining operations during manager vacancies, vacations, new account openings, and special projects while partnering with Regional Directors to ensure operational excellence and outstanding customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide short-term management coverage for dining locations during manager absences or open positions.
  • Lead daily dining operations while maintaining Five Star's standards for food quality, customer service, and safety.
  • Partner with Regional Directors to implement operational improvements, menu enhancements, promotions, and training initiatives.
  • Conduct operational audits and identify opportunities to improve performance and efficiency.
  • Support new account openings, catering events, company meetings, and other special projects.
  • Assist with recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and mentoring Dining Managers.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations.
  • Maintain strong relationships with customers and client contacts while delivering exceptional service.
  • Monitor labor, food costs, and other financial metrics to support operational goals.
  • Coach, develop, and motivate dining teams while promoting a positive work environment.
  • Ensure accurate reporting and timely communication with Regional Directors.
  • Travel extensively to provide operational support throughout the assigned region.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of five years of foodservice management experience.
  • Strong leadership and team development skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple locations and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong understanding of food quality, food safety, and sanitation standards.
  • Experience managing budgets, labor, and operating costs.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office and operational reporting systems.
  • Ability to travel extensively, including overnight travel as needed.
  • Must maintain or obtain ServSafe Certification.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Must be able to consent to a drug screen and pre-employment background check.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality, Business, or a related field.
  • Culinary degree preferred.
  • Multi-unit foodservice management experience.
  • Experience opening new accounts or leading operational improvement initiatives.
  • Experience in corporate dining, healthcare, education, or contract foodservice.
