Location: (Project-Based Travel Required)

Job Summary

Cornerstone Detention Products is seeking a Project Manager to oversee commercial construction projects from project turnover through closeout. This role is responsible for planning, scheduling, budgeting, procurement coordination, contract administration, and ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

The ideal candidate is an organized, proactive construction professional with strong project management experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders while maintaining customer satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.

Reporting Structure

Reports To: Construction Operations Manager

Direct Reports: None

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning & Execution

  • Manage assigned construction projects from startup through final completion.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and project documentation.
  • Coordinate engineering, procurement, field operations, and subcontractors throughout each phase of the project.
  • Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions to maintain schedules and profitability.

Contract & Change Management

  • Review contract documents and monitor contract compliance.
  • Manage Requests for Information (RFIs), Requests for Pricing (RFPs), and change order processes.
  • Prepare, negotiate, and obtain approval for change orders.
  • Coordinate schedule updates resulting from approved project changes.

Project Coordination

  • Conduct project kickoff meetings with field operations and project superintendents.
  • Coordinate material procurement and equipment deliveries.
  • Ensure timely submittals, approvals, and project documentation.
  • Maintain communication between customers, contractors, field personnel, and internal departments.

Financial & Cost Management

  • Maintain project files including job costing, billing information, schedules of values, and documentation.
  • Review project costs, timesheets, and expense reports for accuracy.
  • Monitor project profitability and support cost control initiatives.
  • Coordinate project closeout documentation, warranties, waivers, and affidavits.

Customer & Team Relations

  • Represent Cornerstone at contractor, owner, and project meetings.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, general contractors, and project partners.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction throughout project execution.
  • Promote collaboration across engineering, procurement, accounting, and field operations.

Qualifications

Education

  • High school diploma required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of Construction Project Management or Project Engineering experience required.
  • 5+ years of Project Management and Project Engineering experience preferred.
  • Previous field construction experience preferred.

Technical Skills

  • Ability to read blueprints and construction drawings across multiple trades.
  • Knowledge of construction scheduling, budgeting, and manpower planning.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word.
  • Understanding of building codes and construction documentation.
  • Experience with detention equipment is a plus.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics.
