Land Development Civil Engineer - Washington, DC or Tysons Corner, VA

We are currently seeking a Civil Engineer with 5+ years of experience in the DMV area to join our growing Land Development and Infrastructure team in Washington, DC or Tysons Corner, VA. This is an exciting opportunity to step into a key role on high-profile, community-changing projects that are anything but ordinary.

Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with engineers, planners, and designers to develop civil engineering plans and specifications for a wide range of land development and transportation-related projects.
  • Contribute to design work in stormwater management, site layout, grading, utility systems, and erosion/sediment control.
  • Prepare plans and construction documents using AutoCAD Civil 3D; MicroStation experience is a plus.
  • Conduct fieldwork as needed, including measurements, observations, and photo documentation.
  • Perform engineering analyses and assist in preparing supporting calculations and technical documentation.
  • Create text and spreadsheet documents, manage project data, and support regulatory submittals and permitting processes.
  • Coordinate with local and regional agencies to help secure development approvals.
  • Develop and maintain strong professional relationships with clients, industry partners, and local agency representatives.

Skills and Attributes

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Team-oriented with the ability to work independently and collaboratively across disciplines.
  • High interest in water resources, stormwater systems, and sustainable infrastructure design.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional civil engineering experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
  • PE license required.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D is required. MicroStation Experience a plus.
  • Previous experience in land development, site design, or infrastructure planning is highly desirable.

The base salary range for this position is $100,000 - $130,000 for the Washington, DC location. This offer is determined based on a number of job-related factors including internal comparators, skills, education, training, credentials, experience, scope and complexity of role responsibilities and geographic location.
