Job Description

RESPEC seeks an Assistant Project Manager in our Land Development sector, located in San Antonio or Castroville, TX.ย The Assistant Project Manager position is intended for a broad land development and public works professional, with experience across site civil design, permitting, and project delivery.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's ย or master's degree in civil or environmental engineering, or a related engineering discipline
  • Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the State of Texas, or ability to obtain within 6 months
  • ย A minimum of 4ย years of relevant land development engineering experience in the following areas:
    • Private-sector commercial, residential, and mixed-use land development
    • Preparing engineering reports, civil construction plans, and permitting submittals
    • Helping in coordinating small to mid-sized design teams and managing client interactions
    • Providing land development engineering services in Texas
    • Supporting proposal preparation and fee development
    • Stormwater analysis, site drainage, and civil design standards
  • A minimum of 1 year of project management experience
  • Proficiency with relevant software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D and common hydrologic/hydraulic modeling tools
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record; position requires operating a company or personal vehicle during work hours for business-related travel

Preferred Qualifications

  • Central Texas marketย experience, particularly the San Antonio and Austin regions
  • Familiarityย with local and state permitting agencies and development regulations
  • Experience deliveringย private site development and public works projects, including street, drainage, and utility design, as stand-alone assignments or as part of multidisciplinary project teams
  • Strong stormwater and hydrologic/hydraulic expertise is preferred to support cross-discipline projects, but the role is not limited to stormwater-only practice
