Job description

Alexander Associates are representing an established engineering consultancy thatโ€™s looking to add an experienced Land Development Project Engineer to their Pittsburgh team. This position will be heavily involved in the design and delivery of commercial, residential, industrial and mixed-use site development projects across the Pittsburgh region.


Salary: $90,000-$125,000 DOE + Benefits


Job Specifications:

Support the design and delivery of land development and civil/site projects, including:


  • Commercial, residential, industrial and mixed-use developments
  • Site layout and development plans
  • Grading and drainage design
  • Stormwater management and detention systems
  • Water and sanitary sewer utility design
  • Roadway, access and associated site infrastructure
  • Prepare engineering calculations, plans, specifications and cost estimates
  • Support projects from conceptual and preliminary design through final construction documents
  • Coordinate with project managers, architects and other technical disciplines
  • Assist with permitting and coordination with municipalities and local agencies
  • Perform technical analysis and resolve engineering design issues
  • Support construction-phase engineering and project delivery


Key Requirements:

  • 3+ yearsโ€™ experience within Land Development, Civil/Site or Site Development engineering
  • Strong background in civil/site design and development projects
  • Experience with grading, drainage, stormwater and utility design
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Strong understanding of engineering plans and construction documentation
  • Experience working with local permitting and regulatory requirements preferred
  • Pennsylvania PE license, EIT certification or ability to progress toward PE licensure
  • B.S. in Civil Engineering or related Engineering discipline
