Description

Take the helm at Lake Lawn Resort as the Tour Boat Captain of the Lake Lawn Queen. This seasonal role is responsible for the safe, efficient operation of the vessel while delivering an enjoyable and memorable on-the-water experience for guests.


Position Details

  • Employment Type: Seasonal 
  • Shift: Flexible (Days, Evenings, Weekends) 
  • Department: Marina / Recreation 

What You'll Do

  • Safely operate and navigate the Lake Lawn Queen tour boat 
  • Ensure vessel safety, compliance, and readiness for all operations 
  • Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections of vessel and equipment 
  • Monitor and maintain onboard systems (engines, navigation, safety equipment) 
  • Use navigation tools including radar, depth finders, radios, and buoys 
  • Monitor water conditions and adjust operations as needed 
  • Lead and manage onboard crew to ensure smooth operations 
  • Provide a safe, enjoyable guest experience during tours 
  • Maintain logs, inspections, and compliance with all maritime regulations 

Requirements

 What We're Looking For

  • USCG Master Captain License (50-100 Ton Inland) required 
  • 10+ years of experience operating vessels as a licensed captain 
  • Strong knowledge of marine safety, navigation, and vessel operations 
  • Experience with passenger vessels preferred 
  • Leadership skills with ability to manage crew and guest interactions 
  • High attention to safety, compliance, and detail 

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Outdoor role on the water in varying weather conditions 
  • Frequent standing, walking, and physical movement onboard 
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally 
  • Moderate noise levels and active marine environment
