Senior Field Biologist & Operations Lead

Location: Fort Collins, CO
Job Type: Full-time, Year-Round
FLSA Status: Exempt (Salaried Leadership Role) Bonus eligible

Your Impact - Essential Duties:

Branch & Warehouse Operations

  • Optimize field logistics alongside the Branch and Operations Managers.
  • Oversee fleet readiness for all trucks, specialized boats, and field equipment.
  • Own inventory management to maintain optimal warehouse stocking levels.
  • Champion safety culture by leading monthly training and compliance meetings.

Team Leadership & Mentorship

  • Serve as subject matter expert for a team of field applicators.
  • Run weekly syncs to align field teams on scheduling and safety protocol.
  • Track team performance and partner with management on staff development.

Field Science & Client Services

  • Execute commercial aquatic applications across local ponds and lakes.
  • Design management plans tailored to unique client ecosystem needs.
  • Conduct field testing including water, sediment, and plant sampling.
  • Deploy aquatic technology such as aeration systems and decorative fountains.
  • Lead specialty projects including electrofishing, lake mapping, and hotspot fixes.

What You Bring - Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Biology, Water Resources, Fisheries, or equivalent experience.
  • Leadership: Proven track record of team building and project prioritization.
  • Communication: Strong interpersonal skills for client consultations and team alignment.
  • Tech Savvy: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital inventory tracking.
  • Compliance: Experience handling regulatory guidelines and safety inspections.

Physical Requirements:

  • Strength: Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Mobility: Ability to bend, kneel, and lift arms over shoulders during equipment installations.
  • Stamina: Comfort working outdoors in all seasonal Colorado weather conditions.
  • Screen Time: Ability to sit for extended periods for administrative and computer tasks.
