Overlake Medical Center & Clinics is currently seeking a Lactation Consultant - Registered Nurse for our Postpartum Unit.
The Lactation Consultant provides inpatient lactation consultations for both mothers and babies while hospitalized. The Lactation Consultant can see patients throughout the Childbirth Center (L&D, PPU, and NICU) and is occasionally called to support lactation needs in the general hospital population. The RN needs to be proficient in assessing for newborn and maternal challenges to breastfeeding, be able to prioritize issues in a timely fashion, and create feeding plans to ensure success until outpatient follow up is achieved. The RN should also collaborate with the Childbirth Center staff regarding best practices with breastfeeding. Two (2) years of Postpartum care experience is preferred. IBCLC certification is HIGHLY preferred and required within 18 months of employment.

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Registered Nursing required, BSN preferred.
  • Current WA state RN license or Multistate RN license required.
  • Healthcare provider CPR & NRP required.
  • Two (2) years of Post-Partum care experience preferred.
  • IBCLC certification is HIGHLY preferred and required within 18 months of employment
