CTG's long-standing Fortune 500 client of over 15 years has a W2 contract assignment for a Software Engineer II.

Type: Contract
Job Title: Software Engineer II
Location: Corning, NY
Candidates must be able to commute and work onsite in Corning, NY
Pay Rate: Based on experience
Work Hours: M-F 8am-5pm
Education: Bachelor's degree preferred in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.

Description

CTG is seeking a Software Engineer II to develop, integrate, test, and support software for industrial measurement, inspection, and machine vision systems. The ideal candidate will have strong C#/.NET development experience and experience integrating software with hardware and distributed systems in a production or manufacturing environment.

This role will support software development, system integration, deployment, troubleshooting, and technical documentation. The engineer will also help evaluate and implement AI-assisted and agentic coding tools to improve software development productivity and quality.

Requirements:

• Develop, test, maintain, and troubleshoot software applications using C#/.NET.
• Develop software for distributed, multi-process, and integrated systems.
• Support communication, configuration, sequencing, and data handling across system applications.
• Support software builds, releases, deployments, and system integration.
• Troubleshoot software and integrated measurement systems.
• Create and maintain technical and support documentation.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, maintenance, and operations teams.
• Evaluate and apply AI-assisted and agentic coding tools to improve development workflows.
• Support source control, versioning, build, and release processes.

Qualifications

• Professional experience developing C#/.NET applications.
• Experience with distributed or integrated software systems.
• Experience with Git/GitLab, source control, software versioning, and build/release processes.
• Familiarity with messaging systems, publish/subscribe architectures, or message queues.
• Experience supporting software deployment and troubleshooting.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with WPF and .NET UI development.
• Experience integrating cameras, motion control systems, imaging hardware, or measurement equipment.
• Experience with machine vision, computer vision, image processing, or metrology.
• Experience with HALCON, OpenCV, LabVIEW, or similar technologies.
• Experience with machine learning applications for inspection or classification.
• Familiarity with databases, containerization, or high-performance computing.
• Experience using AI-assisted or agentic software development tools.
• Manufacturing, industrial automation, or production systems experience.
