What is the Opportunity

Reporting to the appropriate site supervisor, the Utilities Labourer will be responsible to ensure Aecon Energy Solutions Inc. achieves their general and specific project requirements.

What You'll Do Here: 

  • Responsible for the successful completion of utility install projects including support of excavating live utilities, utility line exposure, debris removal, trenching, excavation of sensitive underground utilities, utility install, and site reinstatement.
  • Handle and distribute construction materials (e.g. load and unload vehicles with supplies, equipment and construction materials; move tools, equipment and construction materials to and from work areas.)
  • Swamper/Spotter for equipment operators.
  • Firewatch.
  • Daylighting by hand.
  • Prepare and clean up construction sites.
  • Perform other general labour duties and responsibilities as assigned.

  • Manual dexterity with physical strength and stamina.
  • A safety-conscious attitude.
  • Able to perform in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to lift and work with materials weighing up to 25kg.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions and environments.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Good communication skills; able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Comfortable with digital data entry and using electronic devices.
  • Valid driver's license (abstract required).
  • Criminal background check required.
