Summary of Job Duties:The Extra Help Assistant is responsible for providing unskilled, semi-skilled labor or performing basic office tasks in a state agency or institution. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency policy.
Qualifications:

Required Education and/or Experience:

High school diploma or the formal education equivalent;

Currently enrolled as a UA Little Rock student;

Must be a sophomore with 30 or more hours.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Serve as a peer mentor and assist students with navigating college life;

Attend all mandatory training and meetings throughout the term;

Facilitate discussions with student mentees twice a month;

Become familiar with various resources on campus;

Inform supervisor of any student concerns;

Create and participate in opportunities to support student mentees;

Regularly attend Trojan Leadership Fellows Program events;

Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Strong time management and communication skills;

Display a fitting, cooperative, and approachable attitude and demeanor;

Communicate by effectively writing, listening, and speaking;

Ability to work with a diverse student, faculty, and staff population;

Demonstrate cultural sensitivity;
