GrayWolf is seeking Laborers at our Rincon, GA (Savannah area) project. Local candidates, No Per Diem – Entry Level Position

Summary:

A Laborer assists Craft Journeyman and Craft Helpers by performing support tasks on construction projects such as erecting, wrecking, repairing, maintenance and janitorial functions. Considered entry level.

Essential Duties:

  • Safety – work safely around the hazards associated with the Construction field.
  • Tools – use hand, electric, pneumatic and hydraulic tools and in a safe manner.
  • Dig, spread and level dirt and gravel using a pick and shovel.
  • Lift, carry and hold building materials and supplies
  • Clean tools, equipment, materials and work areas, including sweeping, mopping and other general clean-up activities.
  • Spray materials such as water, sand, steam, vinyl, paint or stucco through hose to clean, coat or seal surfaces.
  • Stop operations (Stop Work Authority) if you find any hazardous conditions.
  • Maintain constant means of communication with supervision.
  • Be prepared to operate fire extinguishers, hydrants, fixed monitors and hose carts at any time.
  • Always stay on the jobsite while work is being completed.
  • Identify safety hazards you or other employees may be subject to and take all necessary corrective action to eliminate or minimize hazards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor as needed.

Qualifications:

  • This is an entry level position – however candidates with prior experience will be preferred.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively and accurately with employees and customers.
  • Must be able to successfully pass required Confined Space Entry training.
  • Must be able to successfully complete all required pre-hire requirements.
  • Read, write and communicate using English language sufficient to perform job functions as required by client and/or facility policy.

Physical/Site Requirements:

  • Lift and carry heavy items weighing up to 45 pounds.
  • Move in and around confined and cluttered places, and uneven areas. Full range of motion and flexibility consistent with age.
  • Work up to a 12-hour shift in varying temperature extremes and other outside conditions.
  • Climb and maintain balance on steel framework, stairs, ladders, and scaffolds.
  • PPE footwear/prescription safety glasses or eye shields required.
