Job description

Job Description:
As a Concrete Carpenter at Thompson, your primary responsibility will be to build and install the formwork that shapes concrete into foundational structures, such as walls, columns, and slabs.
Typical duties include:
  • Coordinating with Project Leaders to understand the scope of work
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics and other technical drawings
  • Measuring, cutting, and shaping lumber or other material into structural molds
  • Constructing and preparing structural forms according to blueprints
  • Using a wide variety of hand and power tools, such as drills, saws, and hammers
  • Cleaning and performing general routine maintenance on tools and equipment
  • Regularly checking completed forms to ensure the highest quality and accuracy
  • Following all company-mandated, as well as OSHA safety guidelines onsite
  • Assisting with general labor duties as directed by Foreman/Project Manager
  • Participating in post-project evals to identify "lessons learned" for the future

Requirements:
  • Must have at least 1+ year of concrete carpentry experience
  • Basic knowledge of setting forms for bulkheads, walls, columns & slabs
  • Understanding of the terms 'plumb', 'level' & 'straight' as it relates to concrete
  • OSHA 10 Certification (Thompson will train, if necessary)
  • CPR & First Aid Certification (Thompson will train, if necessary)
