Job description

The starting wage for this role is $25.00/hour with monthly incentive bonus opportunities. The successful candidate must be able to work safely in a heavy manufacturing environment. The ability to work independently and in a team is a must.
Job Responsibilities:
โ€ข Keep accurate and legible records
โ€ข Maintain clean, safe work area
โ€ข Maintain working knowledge of standard practice instructions
โ€ข Operate mobile equipment: forklift and bobcat to transport slabs
โ€ข Map all slabs and enter all data into computer
โ€ข Efficiently process slabs
โ€ข Operate burning equipment in an efficient manner
โ€ข Inspect slabs and remove kerf using hand torch
โ€ข Use the following tools: burning machines, track burners, tape measure, striker, torch wrench, broom, shovel, pry bar, automatic cutting torches, track torches, hand held torches and computer
โ€ข Communicate (hand/verbal) with crane operator
โ€ข Perform safety inspections on equipment as required
โ€ข Assist other crew members in their areas as instructed by supervisor
Job Requirements:
โ€ข Ability to learn, retain and apply new knowledge
โ€ข Ability to become Oregon Steel Mills Certified Forklift Truck - Bobcat Operator
โ€ข Ability to use basic hand and power tools
โ€ข Knowledge of hand communication signals for communication with crane operators
โ€ข Good math skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and accurate number identification
โ€ข Basic computer skills; data entry
โ€ข Flexibility and willingness to learn and accept changes in job duties
โ€ข 2 years' experience in an industrial environment, preferred
โ€ข Successful completion of ergonomics evaluation
