Job description

Heavy Haul Landall Driver
Hughes Brothers Construction is now hiring! We are a heavy civil contractor specializing in large site infrastructure, underground utilities and roadway construction throughout Central Florida. Heavy Haul Landall Drivers are responsible for the safe and timely loading, transport and delivery of heavy equipment, machinery and materials to and from job sites using a Landall trailer.
Responsibilities:
  • Load and unload heavy equipment such as front-end loaders, long reach excavators, dozers, rollers, forklifts, off-road dump trucks and backhoes.
  • Drive the Landall trailer as well as tractor trailers, dump trucks and roll offs as needed while complying with all DOT safety rules and regulations.
  • Verify the type of materials for transport and ensure proper weight restrictions.
  • Complete pre and post trip DOT inspection reports.
  • Promptly report any accidents, injuries or mechanical faults to management.
  • Perform regular maintenance and cleaning to ensure the truck is operable.
  • Assist in mobilizations/demobilizations as well as other miscellaneous labor help when necessary.
  • Work in an outdoor setting which could include inclement weather, heat and humidity and exposure to dust and asphalt.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Ability to physically stand, bend, squat, and lift to 40 pounds
  • Must have a clean CDL Class A license
  • Must have held a clean CDL license for a minimum of 2 years
  • Up-to-date medical card required
  • Flexible work schedule availability
  • Basic understanding of construction principles and procedures
  • Ability to work independently or as an active member of a team
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
