Job description

Shift: 7:00am- 3:30pm. Supervision of chemistry and to assist the laboratory director with the day-to-day laboratory operations and administrative support functions. To facilitate the provision of patient care by overseeing scheduling and staffing and overseeing the orientation, competency, and continuing education of laboratory personnel. Ensures personnel adhere to all laboratory policy and procedures and sectional requirements, safely processing tests requested with the utmost quality and efficiency. Performs laboratory testing within the scope of experience and qualification.

Pre-Employment Requirements:

  • We are a drug free facility. Passing a pre-employment drug screening is required

Education Requirements:

  • B.S. in Medical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology ASCP certification required.

Job Requirements:

  • Must possess knowledge of Chemistry and Special Chemistry using the regulatory guidelines established by OSHA, CLIA, FDA, NACCLS, and CAP.
  • Must have four years as a medical technologist.
  • Must have the manual dexterity necessary to perform capillary puncture and venipuncture for the collection of specimens, operate instrumentation, perform
    manual and automated pipetting.
  • Must possess good verbal communication skills
  • Must have the ability to carry out detailed written or verbal instructions independently.
  • Must be able to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Must have knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and be able to communicate by email.
  • Meets the CLIA standards for moderate and high complexity testing under 42 CFR 493.1433
  • Possess knowledge levels and judgment capability for effective supervisory functions.
