Job description

The Supervisor, Research Laboratory oversees clinical data and complex research protocols and coordinates clinic and research activities. Further, the incumbent takes initiative in the design, implementation, and coordination of research studies.
CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
1. Keeps all laboratory equipment in good working order and makes minor repairs.
2. Oversees and collaborates in the development of study tools.
3. Evaluates the availability of resources for research studies and the impact of studies on resources.
4. Develops, implements, and maintains standard operating procedures.
5. Reviews numerous laboratory results and enters abnormal results into database.
6. Coordinates trainings and monitors performance of procedures.
7. Assists in the determination of fiscal requirements and in the preparation of budgetary recommendations.
8. Prepares reports setting forth progress, adverse trends, and appropriate recommendations.
9. Establishes and continuously assesses the effectiveness of the internal controls within the unit and compliance with University policies and procedures. Ensures employees are trained on controls within the function and on University policy and procedures.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Bachelor's degree in relevant field required
Experience:
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience required
Certification and Licensing:
Refer to department description for applicable certification requirements
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Performance Management: Ability to set performance goals, provide feedback, conduct evaluations, and effectively delegate tasks.
  • Training & Development: Providing employee training and motivation to enhance skills.

  • Technical Proficiency: Skilled in using office software, technology, and relevant computer applications.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey ideas clearly and persuasively.
