Laboratory Technicians perform soil and water sample preparation and QC sample preparation for analysis by GC/MS or ICPMS. Training provided for applicants with strong analytical skills and/or recent graduates with a science focused degree. Excellent opportunities for advancement to analyst.  Flexible and part time schedules possible for current college attendees.
 
 |Essential Duties & Responsibilities
·         Prepare environmental samples according to approved test methods and JEL SOPs.             
·         Utilize and understand essential LIMS requirements for sample preparation batching and tracking.
·         Perform basic Instrument maintenance and repair as needed.
·         Utilize LIMS functions including generating work lists, obtaining updating job status and data approval.
·         Perform preparation of analytical standards.
·         Maintain all required documentation with accuracy and clarity.
·         Read, understand and perform all applicable laboratory SOPs as written. Perform initial and annual Demonstrations of Capability.
·         Maintain familiarity with quality control measures and calculations required for applicable methods.
·         Ensure laboratory glassware is properly cleaned and maintained.
·         Follow all JEL Safety, Ethics and Quality practices.
·         Maintain a clean and safe work area.
·         Required to operate one or more instruments on a day-to-day basis.
