Field Service Engineer - Southeastern

Located in St. Joseph, Michigan, LECO continues to be a family-owned company that understands the value of shared interests, long-term stability, loyalty, and trust.

Schedule:

Full Time: Remote, salaried position with travel

Position Summary:

The Field Service Engineer role requires a motivated, self-starter who is able to work remotely with minimal supervision. You will spend a majority of your time at customer locations, with travel up to 5 days per week with more extensive travel on an as-needed basis. Build/ maintain relationships as a customer facing member of the team while supporting service activities at customer facilities. You will provide maintenance, repairs, upgrades, installations, and training on analytical and metallographic instrumentation in our Southeastern. Primary service area comprised of one or more of the following states: Georgia, Alabama, Florida, and South Carolina with travel to surrounding regions on an as-needed basis. The ideal candidate will reside near Atlanta, GA. This position offers a $5,000 signing bonus.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Provide preventive/general maintenance, breakdown repair, troubleshooting and corrective actions to analytical and metallographic instrumentation
  • Perform new instrumentation installations as well as updates and upgrade kit installations
  • Provide training on theory, operation, software, and good maintenance practices
  • Ensure the work above is performed in accordance with LECO’s ISO accreditation

Position Requirements:

  • Self-motivated with strong communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Adhere to customer’s site and safety requirements while conducting yourself in a professional manner
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Attend instrumentation training at LECO Corporation in St. Joseph, Michigan for a period of 3-5 months
  • Complete field service training with experienced field service engineers throughout the country
  • Attend annual service training at LECO Corporation in St. Joseph, Michigan
  • Ability to travel daily with up to four overnight hotel stays per week (Monday – Friday)
  • Possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Pass a background check and substance abuse screenings
  • Must be authorized to work in the US without restriction
  • Should have a personal credit card, or the ability to obtain one
  • Strong mechanical skills, and previous experience with AC and DC electronics, or the ability to learn
  • Chemistry or military background is advantageous, but not required

Education/Certifications:

One or more of the following:

  • Two Year Technical Degree or Trade School
  • Prior Military with training in a technical field
  • Equivalent work experience or training in a technical field
