Senior Lab Technologist Position Summary
The Senior Medical Laboratory Scientist is responsible, along with the Section Head, for the management and supervision of the appropriate laboratory section. The Senior MLS is responsible for the performance, evaluation and correlation of test procedures and assists in the selection and evaluation of test methods and new equipment. They participate in the educational and professional development of laboratory personnel, new employees and students and may participate in the performance of routine administrative and non-routine technical functions. The inventory, distribution/delivery of medications may be required.
Senior Lab Technologist Position Requirements
Education
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited program in Medical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology. Or in lieu of:
    • Certified through the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) with a Bachelor's Degree in Biological Science.
    • An Associates Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology with a minimum of two years of applicable experience.

Required License/Certification
  • American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) certification preferred.

Experience
  • One (1) year as Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS).
