Position InformationResearch Areas:
Interns will assist with research projects related to:
โข Turfgrass cultivar evaluation
โข Turfgrass management
โข Soil amendment research
โข Irrigation and water management studies
โข Herbicide evaluation trials
โข Ecosystem services of urban lawns and alternative turf species
Responsibilities: Interns will work closely with the research team and assist with day-to-day research activities, including:
โข Field maintenance of turfgrass research plots
โข Mowing and general turfgrass management
โข Data collection and evaluation of field trials
โข Assisting with greenhouse and laboratory activities as needed
Required Qualifications: โข B.S. degree (completed or in progress) in agronomy, horticulture, plant science, turfgrass science, or a related field.
โข Willing to work up to 20 hours per week.
โข Basic knowledge of turfgrass management practices.
โข Strong organizational and time-management skills.
โข Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
โข Good written and oral communication skills
โข A strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
Preferred Qualifications:โข Operation and maintenance of turfgrass equipment (e.g., reel mowers, aerifiers, verticutters, sod harvesters)
โข Installation or maintenance of irrigation systems
Additional Requirements:The position requires working in outdoor field environments and may involve travel to off-campus research sites and collaborating institutions.
