Job description

The Laboratory Production Support Technician provides essential day-to-day support to scientists and engineers by preparing materials, handling bottles and samples, supporting packaging and shipment activities, and maintaining clean, safe, and organized laboratories and production areas. This position is hands-on and detail-oriented, with a strong focus on material preparation, sample handling, housekeeping, and overall laboratory operational support.

None

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Assist scientists, engineers, and laboratory personnel with routine laboratory production and operational support activities.

· Move bottles, containers, supplies, and other materials from racks, boxes, storage areas, and carts to designated laboratory and production areas.

· Label bottles and other materials in accordance with established procedures and production requirements.

· Wash and prepare bottles and containers for laboratory or production use.

· Prepare ice and other materials used for sample cooling and handling.

· Stage boxes, bottles, labels, packaging materials, and other supplies in designated production areas.

· Collect completed bottles and samples from production areas and place them on carts, racks, shelves, or other designated storage locations.

· Transport materials between laboratory, production, packaging, and storage areas as required.

· Assist with packaging samples and other materials into boxes or shipping containers for shipment.

· Assemble and organize packaging materials needed for daily laboratory and production activities.

· Maintain clean and orderly laboratory, production, and R&D workspaces.

· Remove waste and dispose of materials in accordance with established procedures.

· Mop floors, clean walls and work surfaces, and perform other routine housekeeping activities.

· Maintain supplies and materials in designated locations and notify appropriate personnel when inventory or supplies are running low.

· Follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), safety procedures, and quality requirements.

· Properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE).

· Identify and report unsafe conditions, damaged materials, spills, labeling discrepancies, or other concerns to appropriate personnel.

· Support general organization and cleanup of R&D and laboratory workspaces.

· Assist with other laboratory support, production support, material handling, or housekeeping activities as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

· High school diploma or GED preferred.

· Previous experience in a laboratory, manufacturing, production, warehouse, packaging, or similar environment preferred but not required.

· Ability to learn and follow written Standard Operating Procedures and work instructions.

· Experience working in a regulated or quality-controlled environment is helpful but not required.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

· Frequent standing and walking throughout the workday.

· Frequent reaching, bending, stooping, and handling of bottles, boxes, carts, and laboratory materials.

· Ability to push and pull carts containing laboratory or production materials.

· Ability to perform repetitive hand and arm movements associated with labeling, packaging, washing, and material handling.

· Ability to lift and carry materials consistent with established workplace safety requirements.

· Ability to wear required personal protective equipment.

· Ability to work in laboratory, production, storage, and R&D environments.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is primarily performed in laboratory, R&D, production, packaging, and/or storage areas. Employees may work around laboratory materials, cleaning products, production equipment, refrigerated materials, and other conditions normally associated with laboratory operations.

Employees are required to comply with applicable safety procedures, SOPs, GMP requirements, PPE requirements, and quality standards.
