Job description

Element has an opportunity for an Engineer to join our rapidly expanding team. As a member of the operations team, the Engineer position performs a variety of routine and non-routine testing assignments within the department assigned and insures timely and accurate test results under minimal direct supervision.  The engineer position must be proficient in a number of core business and technical skills including but not limited to compliance to established safety rules, code of conduct, and company policies and procedures.

Salary: $85,000- $100,000/yr DOE 


• Conduct a variety of EMC and RF tests which include setting up test equipment and customer equipment, performing test to applicable test plans or standards such as MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-704, RTCA/DO-160, and IEC testing.
• Interact with customers during the testing process, periodically assist with troubleshooting and development modifications.
• Maintain in-depth knowledge of test standards, and instrumentation
• Program ETS-Lindgren TILE software for EMC Testing automation
• Assist in maintaining ISO/IEC 17025 accreditations and assist in any scope expansions
• Assist in managing calibration of EMI/EMC equipment
• Generate Test Plans and Report for Qualification Testing


• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE), Physics, or a closely related field.
• Minimum 3 Years of EMI/EMC or Testing Experience
• Knowledge of MIL-STD-461, RTCA/DO-160, or applicable EMI/EMC Testing Standards
• Proficiency with RF test equipment: Spectrum Analyzers, EMI Receivers, Network Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, and Signal Generators
• Proficient in Windows and Microsoft Office Applications
• Preferred to have knowledge in LabView or TILE Software

•  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry a plus
• Have the ability to work on well-defined issues, standard and/or routine tests, without significant guidance or supervision

• Takes Initiative and, in most cases, does not need to wait for further instruction
• Able to decide on and implement appropriate testing methods and protocols
• Leads and assigns the work of others when needed
• Analytical/technical knowledge provides a marked impact on overall laboratory technical capabilities and services
• Adapt at managing job priority and work time in accordance with targets/goals set by supervisor
• Under the close guidance of advanced Engineers in the laboratory, works on well delineated technical issues including standard and routine analysis
• Defined work experience has impact on the day to day technical decisions made on timely delivery of laboratory testing services and customer support
• Recognized by colleagues within the lab as possessing strong technical knowledge.
• Has a clearly demonstrated ability to apply an array of testing techniques in a rational and practical style to help examine issues and build solutions.
• EMI EXPERIENCE with a minimum of 3 years
• Military Background - Avionics or Radios
