Job Description

Analyze a variety of oil samples.  This includes:  Any combination of forty analytical tests on income crude oil samples; Samples from various points in the oil process; finished storage samples; and samples from tank trucks being shipped to customers.

Responsibilities:

1.    Communicate test results to facilitator when test indicates corrective action is necessary.
2.    Prioritize oil samples as they arrive in the laboratory.
3.    Complete truck paperwork so shipments can depart in a timely manner.
4.    Record data in the appropriate written logs from a permanent record and as insurance against lost computer records.
5.    Enter test results into an automated Quality Control Database for each sample tested.
6.    Packaging line quality assurance.
7.    Finished product and incoming material testing.
8.    Storage of production retains.
9.    Communicate with supervisor/lead person of laboratory results.
10.  Learn operating procedures for new testing equipment as it is introduced to the lab.
11.  Develop a thorough enough understanding of laboratory processes to be able to contribute insightful methods for streamlining processes.

Second Shift: 2:00pm - 10:30pm.  Third shift: 10:30pm - 6:30am.  Weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.

Qualifications

Education:  High School diploma or equivalent required

Related Experience:  Three (3) years previous laboratory experience preferred

Equipment/Software Skills: Basic data entry skills required

Additional Information

Wage: $25.00/hr

Physical:  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, sit, and stand.   The employee will also be required to use hands, arms and fingers. The physical requirements are they must have the ability to lift 50 pounds, climb stairs, lift, bend, kneel, stand for long periods of time, work in confined spaces, and work with heights.

Sensory:  Visual, speaking, and touch is essential.  Must taste and smell oil samples.

Mental/Reasoning: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
