We are seeking an analytical, detail-oriented Revenue Financial Analyst with prior healthcare revenue cycle (RCM) experience to support financial analysis, managed care initiatives, reimbursement optimization, and operational reporting.

This position requires significantly more than technical reporting skills. The successful candidate must be able to independently interpret business requests, analyze complex healthcare financial data, identify trends, recommend solutions, and communicate findings to business stakeholders.

The Financial Analyst will collaborate closely with Corporate, Divisional, and Regional Revenue Cycle leaders, Managed Care, Accounting, Operations, and Sales to support data-driven decision-making across the organization.

The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical reasoning, excellent business judgment, and the ability to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

In this Role you will:

  • Perform financial analysis of payer contracts, reimbursement trends, and revenue cycle performance.
  • Analyze healthcare reimbursement metrics including Gross Collection Rate (GCR), reimbursement yield, contractual adjustments, denial trends, collection performance, and other revenue cycle KPIs.
  • Develop financial models supporting managed care negotiations and reimbursement opportunities.
  • Generate, validate, reconcile, and distribute recurring financial, billing, and operational reports.
  • Extract, analyze, and interpret data using SQL, Excel, and business intelligence tools.
  • Develop dashboards and reports using Power BI and other reporting platforms.
  • Interpret financial and operational data to identify trends, explain variances, and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Work independently to understand business requests, determine analytical approaches, and recommend solutions.
  • Present findings and recommendations to Revenue Cycle leadership, Accounting, Managed Care, and Operations.
  • Continuously improve reporting processes through automation, process improvements, and enhanced data quality.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to validate data accuracy and ensure consistent reporting methodologies.
  • Prioritize multiple assignments while meeting established reporting deadlines.

All You Need is:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Healthcare Administration, Business Analytics, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in healthcare finance, healthcare revenue cycle, medical billing analytics, managed care analytics, or healthcare reimbursement.
  • Working knowledge of healthcare Revenue Cycle Management (RCM), including CPT coding concepts, reimbursement methodologies, payer contracts, contractual adjustments, collections, and revenue cycle KPIs.
  • Experience analyzing healthcare financial metrics such as Gross Collection Rate (GCR), reimbursement trends, collection rates, payer performance, contractual adjustments, denial rates, or similar healthcare performance indicators.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot Tables, Power Pivot, XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, SUMIFS, GETPIVOTDATA, complex formulas).
  • Strong SQL skills for querying, validating, and analyzing large datasets.
  • Experience using Power BI or similar business intelligence tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently analyze business problems and recommend data-driven solutions.
  • Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities while working independently with minimal supervision.

Bonus Points if you've got:

  • Experience with laboratory billing or pathology billing.
  • Experience with Optum, XIFIN, TELCOR, Epic, Cerner, Athena, NextGen, or similar healthcare billing platforms.
  • Knowledge of physician practice and laboratory revenue cycle operations.
  • Experience supporting managed care contracting or reimbursement analysis.
