Job description

The Skilled Laborer performs advanced labor tasks requiring experience, specialized training, certifications, or equipment operation. This position supports construction, restoration, warehouse, manufacturing, demolition, and industrial projects while maintaining safety, quality, and productivity standards.

The Skilled Laborer is expected to work independently with minimal supervision and assist in training General Laborers.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Construction & Restoration

  • Perform demolition, debris removal, and job site cleanup.
  • Assist with water, fire, mold, storm, and reconstruction projects.
  • Install and remove containment barriers.
  • Set up drying equipment, air movers, dehumidifiers, and HEPA filtration equipment.
  • Perform basic carpentry, framing, drywall, insulation, painting, and finishing work.
  • Assist with emergency response and after-hours projects.


Equipment Operation

  • Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, skid steers, scissor lifts, and other approved equipment.
  • Load and unload materials, equipment, and supplies.
  • Conduct daily equipment inspections and report maintenance issues.


Warehouse Operations

  • Receive, organize, and stage materials.
  • Perform inventory counts and warehouse maintenance.
  • Prepare equipment and supplies for job deployment.


Leadership Support

  • Mentor and assist General Laborers.
  • Ensure work is completed according to client specifications.
  • Promote safe work practices and job site organization.


Qualifications

  • Minimum 1–3 years of labor, construction, restoration, warehouse, or industrial experience.
  • Forklift certification preferred.
  • Restoration industry experience preferred.
  • Ability to read work orders and follow project instructions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Reliable transportation.
