Job description

Job Title: Quality Control Inspector

Division: FiOptix Inc

FSLA Status: Non-Exempt

Reports To: Project Manager

Job Summary: This position is responsible for identifying and escalating quality deficiencies to support the completion of assigned work.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform real time inspections evaluating safety, compliance standards, appearance, and customer experience
  • Schedule and complete a final inspection of work prior to customer walkthrough
  • Complete and submit timely and accurate quality control reports into the appropriate database
  • Develop and maintain relationships with the quality control counterparts of our customers
  • Respond appropriately to customer complaints and inquiries and escalate matters as required
  • Execute target amount of job safety observations
  • Identify areas of improvement to enhance quality and escalate recommendations to management
  • Complete all required Company documentation
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required.

Education: High school diploma, general education degree (G.E.D.), or related trade school education

Experience:

  • One-year telecommunications quality control experience
  • One-year underground construction, aerial construction, and/or multi dwelling unit (MDU) experience
  • Knowledge of highway traffic control standards

Technical Skills:

  • Computer and Microsoft Office proficiency
  • Ability to use a wireless tablet
  • Proven knowledge of utility depths and placement
  • Proven ability to read and interpret design prints

Soft Skills:

  • Highly organized and detail orientated
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines
  • Ability to lead, teach, and train other employees

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background and drug testing
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and a driving record that meets Company requirements
  • Must be in good physical condition with the ability to stoop, crawl, bend at the knees and waist, squat and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time on varied surfaces
  • Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather
  • May be required to work long and unpredictable hours
  • Ability to travel up to 100% of the time, including short notice travel. Travel includes local site travel or national travel depending on business needs.
