The Quality Control Label Rewind Operator is responsible for inspecting, rewinding, and preparing finished label products for shipment while ensuring every order meets Inovar's quality standards and customer specifications. This position plays a critical role in identifying print defects, verifying product accuracy, and ensuring only compliant products reach our customers. The ideal candidate has exceptional attention to detail, strong quality awareness, and the ability to operate rewind and inspection equipment efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Operate label rewind and inspection equipment to inspect finished labels prior to shipment.
  • Perform 100% visual inspection of printed labels for quality and accuracy.
  • Verify customer specifications including:
    • Color consistency
    • Registration
    • Print quality
    • Variable data
    • Barcode readability
    • Die-cut accuracy
    • Label count
    • Core size
    • Roll direction
    • Splice requirements
  • Identify defects including:
    • Missing print
    • Ink smears
    • Color variation
    • Registration issues
    • Die-cut defects
    • Missing labels
    • Contamination
    • Print imperfections
  • Remove defective material and ensure only conforming product is shipped.
  • Accurately complete quality documentation and production records.
  • Label, package, and prepare finished rolls for shipment according to customer specifications.
  • Communicate quality concerns to Production, Quality Assurance, and Supervisors.
  • Maintain work area cleanliness and organization.
  • Follow all safety, GMP, and company quality procedures.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives that improve quality and reduce waste.


Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Manufacturing or printing experience preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify print defects.
  • Ability to read work orders and customer specifications.
  • Basic math and measurement skills.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining productivity.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.


Preferred

  • Experience operating label rewind or inspection equipment.
  • Experience in flexographic or digital label printing.
  • Knowledge of pressure-sensitive labels.
  • Familiarity with barcode verification and quality inspection procedures.
  • Previous quality control or manufacturing inspection experience.


Physical Requirements

  • Stand for extended periods.
  • Frequently lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Bend, reach, twist, and move throughout the production area.
  • Excellent color vision and visual acuity.
  • Ability to perform repetitive hand movements.
  • Ability to safely operate manufacturing equipment.
