Job description

Description

Imprimus Labels & Packaging is seeking an experienced Project Manager to support a key strategic customer in the Santa Clarita, CA area. This is a highly customer-focused role responsible for managing projects from initial request through production and delivery while coordinating across customer, vendor, and internal manufacturing teams.

This position is ideal for someone with experience in label printing, flexible packaging, or commercial printing who excels at managing multiple projects, priorities, deadlines, and customer requirements in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The position will work remotely from a home office but must be located near Santa Clarita and available to meet frequently in person with customer and vendor contacts in the area. Occasional travel to our Brea, CA manufacturing facility will also be required.

What You'll Do
  • Manage customer projects from initial request through production and final delivery.
  • Coordinate product launches, new SKUs, transitions, artwork changes, material changes, regulatory updates, and other customer-driven initiatives.
  • Develop project timelines, establish priorities, track milestones, and ensure deadlines are met.
  • Serve as the primary day-to-day liaison between the customer and internal and external teams.
  • Coordinate artwork and prepress activities, including proofs, revisions, specifications, approvals, and final customer sign-off.
  • Coordinate with customer, vendor, supply chain, planning, production, quality, and customer service teams.
  • Manage project requirements involving pre-production, production, expediting, shipping, labeling/marking, and logistics.
  • Monitor open orders, production schedules, inventory, and delivery commitments and proactively identify potential delays or risks.
  • Coordinate priorities, rush requests, and expedite requirements while balancing customer expectations with manufacturing capabilities and lead times.
  • Work closely with Planning and Production regarding capacity, materials, tooling, scheduling, and delivery requirements.
  • Support customer inventory programs, forecasts, anticipated demand, and shipment releases.
  • Coordinate with Quality on customer complaints, corrective actions, credits, and final resolution.
  • Research and resolve order discrepancies, delivery issues, pricing questions, specification concerns, and other customer issues.
  • Facilitate project and status meetings with customer, vendor, and internal teams.
  • Maintain accurate project, order, account, and customer documentation.
  • Identify recurring service or operational issues and work cross-functionally on continuous improvement opportunities.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience required.
  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, Project Management, Operations, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, account management, customer service, sales support, or a related customer-facing position in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Experience in label printing, flexible packaging, or commercial printing is required.
  • Experience supporting large, complex, multi-location, or strategic customer accounts preferred.
  • Experience coordinating multiple projects from development through manufacturing and delivery.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing workflows, production scheduling, materials, artwork/prepress, quality, and logistics.
  • Experience with domestic and international logistics is preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn ERP, CRM, estimating, artwork, and manufacturing systems.
  • Bilingual English/Mandarin is preferred but not required.
What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who is exceptionally organized, detail-oriented, responsive, and comfortable taking ownership of projects from beginning to end. The successful candidate will be able to manage changing priorities, anticipate potential problems, communicate effectively with customers and manufacturing teams, and keep multiple projects moving forward simultaneously.

Strong communication and relationship-building skills are essential. You should be comfortable working across departments and influencing priorities without direct authority.
