Position Description: Labeling Technician Job Description
The Labeling Technician plays a critical role in the packaging and labeling of finished goods within a cannabis production facility. This position ensures that all products are accurately labeled, meet regulatory and company standards, and are ready for distribution. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, compliant with state and federal cannabis regulations, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:Labeling and PackagingApply labels to all finished cannabis products in strict accordance with state regulations and company labeling guidelines, ensuring accuracy and adherence to established standards. Verify that all labels include required information such as product type, batch number, harvest date, expiration date, and any warnings. Operate and maintain labeling equipment, ensuring calibration and functionality for optimal performance. Inventory and Quality Control Perform regular checks on inventory to confirm labeling compliance, product quality, and accuracy in the Seed-to-Sale tracking system. Assist in performing cycle counts and maintaining accurate inventory of labeling materials and supplies. Work with the Quality Assurance team to address and resolve labeling discrepancies, reporting any irregularities or concerns to leadership promptly. Participate in audits and compliance reviews as needed, supporting inventory traceability and regulatory accuracy. Documentation and Compliance Maintain accurate records of all labeling activities, including batch numbers, dates, quantities, and product codes in compliance with internal and regulatory requirements. Ensure that all labeling procedures and standards are followed, upholding compliance with state and local cannabis regulations. Collaborate with the Quality and Compliance teams to adjust labeling for new products or regulatory changes, implementing updates seamlessly. Team Collaboration and Support Coordinate with the Distribution and Inventory teams to prepare finished goods for distribution, including organizing shipments and verifying all necessary labeling and packaging documentation. Provide assistance with weekly cannabis waste destruction events, ensuring compliant handling of all cannabis materials. Support the training of new team members in labeling standards, equipment use, and compliance practices. Health, Safety, and Cleanliness Adhere to all health, safety, and sanitation protocols within the labeling and packaging areas, ensuring a clean and organized workspace. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required and participate in safety meetings and training. Requirements
Qualifications: Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certifications in quality control or compliance is a plus. Minimum of 1 year of experience in a labeling, packaging, or inventory role, preferably in the cannabis, food, or pharmaceutical industry. Skills and Abilities Knowledge of state and local cannabis regulations pertaining to packaging and labeling. Proficiency in inventory management and tracking systems (Seed-to-Sale systems preferred). Strong attention to detail, with the ability to perform repetitive tasks accurately and efficiently. Effective communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with cross-functional teams. Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for extended periods. Dexterity to operate labeling machinery and equipment safely.
