Job description

Position Summary:
Laser Cutting Machine Operator / Setup Technician is responsible for the setup, operation, and programming of and laser cutting machines.
Key Responsibilities:
โ€ข Machine Operation & Setup
โ€ข Set up and operate laser cutting machines (fiber and/or CO2) to produce high-precision components.
โ€ข Interpret and work from technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD files.
โ€ข Perform routine maintenance and ensure machines are operating safely and efficiently.
โ€ข Programming
โ€ข Develop and optimize laser cutting manual programs using G codes and/or CAD/CAM software (e.g., Fusion 360, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Mastercam).
โ€ข Adjust cutting parameters based on material type and thickness to ensure quality and minimize waste.
โ€ข Collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure that tooling meets safety and performance standards.
โ€ข Support initiatives to improve workflow and reduce manual labor.
โ€ข Quality Assurance
โ€ข Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges).
