Job description

ClearStak, LLC a leader in clean combustion technologies and environmental testing, is seeking a Lab Technician to join our team in Willington, Connecticut. This is a hands-on, technical role ideal for someone mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and interested in working on real-world environmental solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Follow detailed EPA and ASTM test methods during emissions testing

• Monitor laboratory equipment and data during extended (6+ hour) test runs

• Troubleshoot and repair lab instrumentation and combustion systems

• Operate wood-burning stoves and test appliances under controlled conditions

• Calibrate, clean, and maintain lab instruments

• Prepare cordwood fuel to exact mass, size, and moisture specifications

• Handle and manage sensitive samples with accuracy and care

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent (technical training a plus)

• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical procedures

• Good reading comprehension and basic computer skills

• Comfortable using hand tools and performing basic mechanical tasks

• Safety-conscious and able to work independently on second shift

• Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for extended periods

• Experience in a lab or testing environment is a plus
