Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Cath Lab Technologist for a long-term assignment within a specialized pediatric cardiac unit in Texas. This role involves supporting procedures that diagnose and treat cardiovascular conditions, including electrophysiology (EP) and interventional radiology (IR) procedures. The technologist will play a critical role in both pre- and post-procedure care, intra-procedural monitoring, and sterile technique compliance.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in procedures to diagnose and treat conditions of the cardiovascular system
  • Perform real-time physiological monitoring of heart rate, rhythm, pressures, oxygen saturation, and cardiac output
  • Identify catheter positioning and anticipate changes during procedures
  • Communicate patient condition changes promptly to physicians and team members
  • Operate and maintain procedure-specific equipment and supplies
  • Maintain strict aseptic technique and infection control standards
  • Assist with procedure room setup, patient transport, and post-procedure clean-up
  • Educate patients about post-procedure expectations and care for the catheter insertion site
  • Provide instructions related to activity restrictions and when to seek intervention
Minimum Requirements:
  • Valid certification: RT-R (ARRT) or RCIS
  • Experience in a Cath Lab setting; pediatric experience a plus
  • Proficiency with hemodynamic monitoring and intra-procedure testing
  • Strong critical thinking and communication skills
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic and specialized cardiac unit with pediatric patients
