As a vital member of the clinical team, the Phlebotomist will be responsible for efficiently and safely drawing blood samples from patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric populations. This role involves preparing specimens for lab testing, verifying patient identities, and maintaining thorough documentation—all while fostering a reassuring environment of trust and confidence. Whether stationed at a busy patient service center or rotating across multiple locations, you’ll be instrumental in ensuring seamless healthcare delivery through your technical expertise and dedication.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform high-quality blood collection via venipuncture and capillary puncture, ensuring patient comfort and safety.

Verify patient demographic information prior to sample collection and accurately label specimens in the presence of the patient.

Prepare and process lab specimens following established protocols to ensure specimen integrity.

Maintain meticulous records of patient interactions, specimen collection, and relevant documentation.

Uphold safety standards and compliance with all policies, including OSHA and confidentiality guidelines.

Communicate clearly with patients, providing explanations of procedures to ease anxiety and build trust.

Adapt to various work environments, including patient service centers, clinical offices, or hospital outreach locations.

Demonstrate leadership qualities through process improvement, confidentiality, and attention to detail.

Participate in ongoing training, including certification updates and equipment handling.

Required Skills:

Minimum of three years of professional phlebotomy experience, including pediatric and geriatric collections.

Proven proficiency in venipuncture, capillary sampling, and handling complex patient needs.

Exceptional customer service skills with a patient-focused approach.

Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.

Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and function efficiently in high-volume settings.

Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, team members, and supervisors.

Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems and data entry accuracy.

Nice to Have Skills:

Medical Assistant, Paramedic, or related medical training.

Certification in Phlebotomy from an accredited organization (preferred but not mandatory).

Preferred Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent required.
