Point of Care Lab Technician – Mobile Laboratory in San Leandro, CA

Join a leading facility in San Leandro, California, offering a flexible schedule with consistent weekday shifts. Start Date: Immediate / TBD

Duration: Ongoing / Per diem opportunity

Shift: Variable shifts, typically weekdays

Hours per week: 40+

Employment Type: Temporary/Per diem / Possible permanent placement

Licenses/Certifications: Medical or laboratory certification preferred; experience preferred but not required

Experience: Entry-level or experienced candidates welcome

Hourly Rate: $1.00 (plus potential additional compensation)

What You'll Do

  • Collect blood specimens via venipuncture and capillary methods
  • Receive and process specimens from phlebotomists and couriers
  • Perform waived laboratory tests in Chemistry, Hematology, Urinalysis, Molecular, and Coagulation areas
  • Monitor and maintain quality control of testing instruments and reagents
  • Document test results accurately and confirm abnormal or critical results
  • Enter patient data and test results into laboratory information systems
  • Assist with inventory management and comply with safety protocols
  • Troubleshoot equipment, instrument, or computer issues as needed
  • Deliver mobile lab services using a delivery van to high-volume testing sites when applicable

What You Need

Required:

  • Valid certification or license for laboratory or medical testing (preferred, not mandatory)
  • Ability to work in a mobile/laboratory environment
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds regularly

Preferred:

  • Previous experience in phlebotomy or lab testing
  • Familiarity with lab information systems
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and travel locally
