Summary:

The Lab Technician is responsible for supporting the research site through phlebotomy, lab maintenance, recording data, and cleaning equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Comply with all company policies, procedures, and conduct.
  • Strictly adhere to confidentiality and compliance standards.
  • Receive, label and safely store testing samples using Universal Precautions.
  • Record tests and analyses and reporting.
  • Organize sample storage in accordance with all safety and FDA requirements.
  • Clean and maintain laboratory equipment, including equipment calibrations as needed.
  • Maintain equipment records and work logs.
  • Remain current on study protocols that require laboratory spec, equipment and supplies.
  • Ensure laboratory supplies remain at established par levels.
  • Process and ship lab specimens according to protocols.
  • Report issues to management.
  • Meet all study protocol requirements and deadlines.
  • Other tasks and responsibilities as requested to facilitate business needs.

Qualification Requirements:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Education and Experience:

  • 2 years’ experience as a Lab Technician or related position, required.
  • 1-2 years’ experience in phlebotomy, required.
  • Proven experience in operating electrical and nonelectrical laboratory equipment, including potentially dangerous substances (such as flammable liquids and biohazardous materials).
  • In-depth knowledge in preventative precautions and laboratory best practices.
  • Excellent physical condition and endurance.
  • Able to work comfortably independently or in a team.
