POSITION AVAILABLE

Position: Medical Lab Scientist Certified

Worksite: 123 International Way, Springfield, OR 97477

Duties: Perform complex laboratory procedures and tests in areas such as blood bank, chemistry, hematology, immunology, and microbiology using established protocols and procedures. Monitor, screen, and troubleshoot devices, tests, and procedures to identify anomalies and make corrections to ensure quality. Evaluate specimens for testing, utilize appropriate criteria, and uphold established performance standards. Apply established criteria for testing, and analyze entire testing process from preparation, conducting test, functioning of devices, and procedures to ensure quality test results. Perform waived, moderate, and high complexity laboratory tests. Maintain equipment and tools; perform quality assurance testing, routine calibration, and ensuring optimal performance. May assist with the evaluations of new methods and procedures. Consult with clinicians, supervisor and other caregivers on test results, requirements, and testing protocols. Direct and guide phlebotomy and specimen management teams, may assist with orientation of new caregivers and students and assess competencies. Maintain appropriate records for specimens, tests, and data. Utilize computer systems in reporting and documenting analysis. Participate in department in-services and continuing education programs; attend lectures, workshops, and video presentations as required. Participate in required competency assessment and proficiency testing activities. Provide (CAP, HIPPA, etc.) compliance support. Perform other duties as assigned.

Salary from: $38.29 to $57.42 / hour

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology, Clinical or Medical Laboratory Science, Chemistry, Biological Science, or closely related equivalent science (or foreign equivalent).

Skills/Requirements:

· Medical Technologist, International Medical Laboratory Scientist, or Medical Lab Scientist certification, ASCP or equivalent (AMT, AAB) is required. Accepted certification for non-US citizens includes ASCPi, AMT, or CSMLS. Upon hire.

· Employment will be contingent upon passing background check and drug test.
