Job Title: Network Testing Lab Infrastructure Engineer Job Category: Information Technology Time Type: Full time Minimum Clearance Required to Start: TS/SCI with Polygraph Employee Type: Regular Percentage of Travel Required: Up to 10% Type of Travel: Continental US * * * The Opportunity : We are seeking a detail-oriented and hands-on Network Testing Lab Infrastructure Technician to support the daily operations and maintenance of our network testing laboratory environment. This role will be responsible for assisting in the setup, configuration, and troubleshooting of lab equipment and infrastructure to enable effective network testing and validation. Responsibilities: * Set up and configure network devices and testing equipment according to lab specifications and test requirements.
* Assist in the maintenance and organization of the physical lab environment, including cable management and equipment inventory.
* Perform basic troubleshooting of lab equipment and network configurations to resolve issues and ensure smooth operations.
* Execute test plans and procedures as directed by senior lab engineers.
* Assist in the implementation of lab automation scripts and tools under supervision.
* Maintain accurate documentation of lab configurations, test setups, and equipment inventory.
* Support the installation and updates of software and firmware on lab devices.
* Assist in the preparation of lab environments for specific testing scenarios
* Collaborate with lab engineers to understand and implement lab setup requirements.
* Participate in regular lab maintenance activities, including equipment cleaning and calibration.
* Assist in monitoring lab resource utilization and report any capacity issues.
* Work closely with the facilities team to ensure the network test lab has appropriate power, cooling, and environmental controls to support uninterrupted operations. This includes monitoring HVAC systems, power distributions systems and redundancy, and ensuring compliance with safety standards including lockout/tagout compliance.
* Support the onboarding and training of new lab users on equipment and procedures. Qualifications: Required: * Bachelor's degree or Associates in Information Technology, Network Engineering, or related field; , or equivalent work experience
* 3+ years of work related experience
* TS/SCI w/ poly is required
* Basic understanding of networking concepts and protocols
* Familiarity with common network devices (routers, switches, firewalls)
* Basic knowledge of network cabling standards and practices
* Ability to follow technical instructions and procedures accurately
* Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
* Good problem-solving abilities
* Basic scripting or programming skills (e.g., Bash, Python) is a plus
* Excellent teamwork and communication skills
* Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies Desired: * CompTIA Network+ or similar entry-level networking certification is desirable
* Knowledge of working with HVAC systems, power management, and facilities teams to ensure optimal test lab conditions This position is contingent on funding and may not be filled immediately.
