Full Time Cath Lab Technologist (ARRT, RCIS)

Pick between five 8 hour shifts or four 10 hour shifts, (M-F 7-5:30a with a set day off)

Job Summary and Qualifications

Cardiovascular Technologists/Special Procedure Technicians are responsible for demonstrating knowledge of human growth and development, assessment, and the range of treatment and care for patients served. They are skilled in scrubbing/assisting physicians during diagnostic and interventional cardiac and peripheral angiographic studies. This role also involves recording and monitoring cases, with a strong understanding of hemodynamic measurements and readings from valve areas.

What You Will Do in This Role:

  • Demonstrate the ability to perform contrast media administration according to age/weight-specific guidelines.
  • Demonstrate the ability to set up sterile trays and maintain a sterile field, according to hospital protocol.
  • Scrub and assist interventional physicians during interventional procedures.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of drugs, their actions, side effects, and contraindications for administration.
  • Exhibit the ability to start and maintain IV access.
  • Accurately follow physician orders, document completion of exams in Meditech, scan documents, and verify images in PACS.
  • Properly measure radioactive waste and know how to dispose of it in accordance with regulatory guidelines.

What Qualifications You Will Need:

  • Licensure/Certification (one or both required):
    • Current license or registry certification as a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI). If not held at hire, must complete this advanced registration within one year of hire date.
    • Current license or registry from an accredited School of Radiologic Technology and licensed through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) as a Registered Radiologic Technologist [RT(R)].
