Adjunct Professor - Chemistry Lab

Job Summary:

The Department of Chemistry (https://www.usfca.edu/) invites applications to teach undergraduate laboratory courses in the fall 2026 semester. Our ACS-certified department offers a BS in Chemistry, a BS with Biochemistry concentration, a BS with Medicinal/Synthetic Chemistry concentration, and a thesis-based MS in Chemistry. The department is supported by a full-time stockroom manager, organic lab coordinator/NMR manager, instrumentation specialists, and a science safety officer. The University of San Francisco is a Catholic-Jesuit institution that blends the liberal arts and professional preparation, emphasizing quality teaching and student learning.

Laboratory Adjunct Professor Positions

CHEM 112 General Chemistry I Lab

Qualifications

Candidates must have a BS in Chemistry or a related field. Applicants with PhDs and/or teaching experience will be given preference. Current PhD and MS graduate students will be considered to lead one section per semester.

Job Responsibilities

Duties include attending a weekly lab instructor meeting, delivering a short pre-lab lecture, supervising students during experiments, and grading assignments.
