We are actively seeking a Lab Technician to support the creation and packing of canine training aids.

Work Description:

The Lab Technician is responsible for manufacturing, preparing, and packaging both pseudo and real narcotic canine training aids in accordance with established laboratory procedures and safety protocols. This position requires strong attention to detail, adherence to safety and security standards, and the ability to manage multiple customer orders simultaneously. The Lab Technician will support laboratory operations, provide administrative assistance, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts through process reviews and after-action assessments. U.S. citizenship is required, along with the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance as designated by the contract.

Responsibilities: The Lab Technician will support tasks such as:

  • Creating pseudo and real narcotics canine training aids using established procedures
  • Preparing samples, setting up instrumentation, initiating analytical protocols, and accessing instrumental data
  • Contributing to After Action assessments of production sessions and documenting process improvements in coordination with LSS leadership
  • Reviewing laboratory processes and procedures and providing recommendations for efficiency and safety improvements (including receiving, handling, storage, packaging, shipping, inventory, and documentation)
  • Completing all required production and shipping documentation accurately and timely
  • Safely packaging canine training aids for shipment and ensuring secure delivery to client locations
  • Managing multiple customer orders and performing work in a timely manner to meet operational demands
  • Ensuring compliance with hazardous materials handling and safety protocols
  • Supporting laboratory operations, equipment maintenance, and facility management as requested
  • Providing administrative support, such as escorting visitors, answering phones, documenting meeting minutes, and assisting with logistics
  • Supporting additional operational tasks as directed by LSS leadership, including vehicle transportation and fleet management
  • Following all established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure quality, consistency, and compliance

Minimum Requirements:

  • Public Trust clearance, or ability to obtain one
  • Associate's Degree
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience with pseudo-narcotics
  • Must be detail oriented and capable of safely operating commercial grade equipment, preparing samples, setting up analytical instrumentation, and initiating analytical protocols
  • Must be able to follow instructions with a minimal level of direction
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
