Job Description

Job Functions and Responsibilities:

Submits lab equipment and lab supplies procurement requests and tracks invoices

Perform department administrative duties as needed

Organizes department staff training, i.e. Health and Safety

Coordinates receipt and installation of lab equipment

Coordinates group instrument/equipment trainings with vendors.

Coordinates maintenance, calibration, and qualification of laboratory instruments.

Establishes and maintains equipment log-books as needed

Acts as lab liaison to Metrology department, Facilities department, and Information Services department for lab support.

Responsible for managing the inventory of chemicals/reagents/consumables. Monitor expiry dates of chemicals/reagents and ensure that all analysts are in compliance with current systems in place for maintenance of reagents/chemicals.

Coordinates the delivery and receipt of samples for testing

Scope:

Demonstrated ability in the application of the requisite skills to perform the required tasks of the position following established practices and procedures.

Receives general instructions on routine assignments and works under supervision.

Receives detailed instructions on new work, which is closely supervised and reviewed.


Skills:

MS WORD, MS EXCEL, MS ACCESS; Familiar or previous experience with the corporate procurement system is a plus.

Demonstrated interpersonal skills and experience working with diverse teams.

Strong organization skills; strategic thinking and working independently with minor supervision.

Strong communication skills


Qualifications

High School and 1 3 years of related experience is required. Bachelor s degree is preferred.
